Yoga Nidra is an ancient yogic practice which modern science now identifies as a highly effective mind-body therapy. It invites practitioners to experience a level of deep relaxation described as a state of being between wakefulness and sleep, where one becomes a quiet observer. Each class, one of our rotating instructors will provide time for you to set an intention for the practice, followed by some gentle movement on the ground, and a pranayama (breath-body) practice. Then we will invite you to settle onto the mat for deep rest. As you lie comfortably on your backs using studio props or your own, the teacher will walk you through a guided meditation combining traditional methods and modern scientific insight to help you feel both more connected to self and a curious witness to your underlying peace. Comfortable clothes are recommended; PJs welcome!
